Dr. Shawn St. Peter, professor of pediatric surgery in the department of Pediatric surgery at University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. Dr. Naik-Mathuria gives her presentation on non-operative management for pancreatic trauma. She discusses management strategies for injuries, pseudocyst formation, and the safeness of non-operative management for low-grade pancreatic injuries. Dr. Shawn St. Peter discusses pancreatic injury classification, pseudocyst formation among non-operative vs. operative management and comparisons, pancreatic enzyme levels, and the laparoscopic approach to distal pancreatectomy.
