Dr. Elizabeth Edgerton, director of the division of child, adolescent, and family health at the Maternal Child Heath Bureau, EMSC and Injury prevention chief, gives presentation on pediatric readiness and trauma care. Dr. Edgerton discusses the challenges of being pediatric ready, ED guidelines for pediatric care, national assessment of pediatric readiness of EDs (PECC benefits), the role of accountability and verification by analysis of pediatric readiness scores, and the improvements by pediatric verification programs. The presentation was followed by a discussion between Dr. Edgerton and Dr. John K. Petty, Dr. Richard Falcone Jr., Dr. Todd Ponsky, and Lynn Haas.
