Tinsley Anderson and Dr. KuoJen Tsao evaluated their appendectomy patients at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas, and found significant variation in the amount and duration of narcotics prescribed. Some patients had a prescription for a day; others for a month!
